|---|---|---|

| Deepak Adhya | Tournament Director | 087 349 0862 |
All play shall be governed by the Laws of Badminton as published by the Badminton World Federation (BWF) under Statutes Section 4.1, current at the date of this Championship. The Competition Regulations of Badminton Ireland (BI) shall also apply in full. Where any provision of this “Vertex Tournament” Programme conflicts with BI Competition Regulations, the provisions of this “Vertex Tournament” Programme shall take precedence.
The Directorate holds sole responsibility for the organisation, conduct, and adjudication of this Championship. The Directorate retains the authority to interpret, amend, or supplement these regulations at any stage should the proper conduct of the Championship so require. Any such amendments shall be communicated to participants at the earliest opportunity.
Entry is open to all players who hold a valid current membership with a Badminton Ireland affiliated club. The closing date for entries and amendments was 31 May 2026, and the deadline for withdrawals is 4 June 2026 at 11:00 PM (Dublin Time). Requests received after this date shall be entertained only at the absolute discretion of the Directorate. No refund shall ordinarily be payable in respect of withdrawals notified after the deadline date.
Registration Fee: €32 per pair. Payment must be received prior to the tournament date to confirm entry.
The Championship features three disciplines — Men’s Doubles, Women’s Doubles, and Mixed Doubles — each organised by BI Grade/Division. Categories may be further divided into pools at the Directorate’s discretion.
Grading Policy: Competitors must enter at their current BI grading. Participation in a higher grade is permitted; participation in a lower grade is prohibited. The Directorate reserves the right to reassign any player to the correct category.
Pool Composition: The seeding and allocation of pairs into pools within each category is determined solely by the Directorate.
Group Stage: All pool matches shall follow a single round-robin format. The method of qualification from the group stage to knockout rounds (Super-pools and/or Semi-finals and/or Final) shall be specified per category, as the progression pathway may differ between groups.
| Category | Progression Pathway |
|---|---|
| WD – Grade F / Division 6-7 | 2 Pools → Final |
| WD – Grade G-H / Division 8-9-10 | 3 Pools → Semi-Finals → Final |
| XD – Grade E / Division 4-5 | 2 Pools → Final |
| XD – Grade F / Division 6-7 | 4 Pools → Semi-Finals → Final |
| XD – Grade G-H / Division 8-9-10 | 4 Pools → Semi-Finals → Final |
| MD – Grade C-D / Division 2-3 | 2 Pools → Semi-Finals → Final |
| MD – Grade E / Division 4-5 | 4 Pools → Semi-Finals → Final |
| MD – Grade F / Division 6-7 | 6 Pools → 2 Super-Pools → Final |
| MD – Grade G-H / Division 8-9-10 | 4 Pools → Semi-Finals → Final |
Pools with 4 or more pairs: Each match comprises 2 games to 15 straight points; no setting (no deuce). There will be 2 Match Points available for each Match, examples as follows:
Super-Pools with exactly 3 pairs: Each match comprises 2 games to 15 straight points; no setting (no deuce). There will be 2 Match Points available for each Match, examples as follows:
⚠️ Super-Pool Rule Amendment: If a team secures qualification for the Final by winning its first two Super-Pool matches, the remaining third match (between the two eliminated teams) may be omitted as it cannot affect the qualification outcome.
Semi-Finals: Each Semi-Final shall be contested as the best of 3 games to 15 straight points; no setting (no deuce). The pair winning 2 games qualifies for Finals. If a team wins 2 games straight, the 3rd game will not be played.
Finals: Each Final shall be contested as the best of 3 games to 21 points per game. If a team wins 2 games straight, the 3rd game will not be played. Setting shall apply in accordance with Vertex Tournament guidelines (i.e., if the score reaches 20-all, play continues until one side leads by 2 points or the score reaches 25-all, at which point the next point wins).
A toss shall be conducted by the designated court official prior to each match. The pair winning the toss may elect to serve first or to choose their preferred end. For subsequent games, ends shall be changed and the first service shall be taken by the pair that won the preceding game.
Where the group stage concludes with pairs requiring separation, the following hierarchy shall apply:
If you need to withdraw from the tournament, please let us know before Thursday, 4th June at 11:00 PM (Dublin Time) to receive a refund of your registration fee.
You are still able to withdraw after this time if something comes up, but please note that no registration fees will be refunded for withdrawals made after the June 4th, 11:00 PM deadline, as brackets and venue costs will be locked in.
If you need to pull out of the tournament, please DM Deepak or Dilesh directly on WhatsApp as soon as possible so we can update our records.
You can change your partner anytime leading up to the tournament, and even on the day of the match before your first game. However, the new partner’s grade must be compliant with your registered category.
You cannot change your partner after you have played your first match.
Partner replacement due to an injury sustained during play is strictly not permitted. If a player gets injured mid-tournament and cannot continue, the team will unfortunately have to forfeit.
If you need to make a partner swap before your first match, please inform us at the Registration Helpdesk so we can verify their grade and update the bracket.
Please note that the management will not be held responsible for any injuries caused to players during the tournament, whether on or off the court. Please ensure you warm up thoroughly!
Registration fees will not be refunded if a team has to withdraw due to an injury sustained during the event.
All competitors must present themselves at the tournament registration desk no later than the check-in time designated for their category. A pair that fails to report by the scheduled start time of their match, or that does not respond promptly when called to court by the designated official, may be declared in default and removed from the draw at the Directorate’s discretion.
This Championship operates under a self-officiated format; no umpires or line judges will be appointed. Players are responsible for making their own line calls and for maintaining an accurate score throughout the match.
A Directorate-appointed court supervisor shall be present at each court. Any dispute that the players are unable to resolve between themselves shall be referred to the court supervisor, whose ruling shall be final and binding.
At the conclusion of each game, both pairs must report the score to the court supervisor before commencing the next game.
Competitors are strongly advised to warm up adequately, to wear appropriate indoor court footwear and sporting attire, and to take all reasonable steps to prevent injury. Vertex Sports accepts no responsibility or liability for any injury or illness sustained by any participant during the Championship.
Should a player be unable to continue due to injury or illness, the affected pair shall be deemed to have retired from the match. Any remaining group-stage matches involving that pair shall be recorded as conceded.
All participants, whether actively competing or awaiting matches, are expected to observe the highest standards of sportsmanship and fair play at all times within the venue. Abusive language, intimidation, deliberate time-wasting, or any conduct deemed to bring the Championship into disrepute shall not be tolerated.
The Directorate reserves the right to issue warnings, deduct points, or disqualify any player or pair in response to substantiated reports of misconduct.
All players must wear proper badminton sport attire and non-marking shoes at all times on court. Players wearing marking shoes will not be permitted to play.
Food Policy: No food is allowed inside the court hall. Please use the bar/cafeteria area for food, lunch, and snacks. Inside the court hall, only water, energy drinks, and small snacks (e.g. energy bars) are permitted.
Competitors are solely responsible for the safekeeping of their personal belongings. Vertex Sports and the venue shall not be held liable for any theft, loss, or damage to personal property during the event.
By participating in or attending the Vertex Senior Championships, all persons acknowledge and agree that the organisers may capture photographs and video recordings during the event. Participants grant Vertex Sports the irrevocable right to use such media for promotional, marketing, or social media purposes without further compensation or approval.
The official shuttlecock provided for all tournament matches will be the Vertex Premium Shuttlecock VX850. The Directorate reserves the right to change the shuttlecock at its discretion.
Please Note: Vertex Sports Management reserves the absolute right to change tournament formats, rules, and guidelines at any time at its own discretion, without prior notice or external consent.

Wishing all competitors the very best of luck on court.
See you at the next one!
